This season, we have had to stop absorbing the TicketSource booking fee for online ticket sales. In a typical season, we pay over £1,000 in fees and sadly, having had to pay for a new roof, we just don’t have the money to carry on paying the charges out of the theatre’s limited funds.
But we understand – everything seems to be getting more and more expensive and there’s less money to spend on treats like a night at the theatre. And we certainly don’t want to make it too expensive for people to come along to the EAT.
So, if you want to see one of our productions, you can now also book your tickets in person at our Wednesday Night Social. Come down to the theatre on any Wednesday from 8pm (except show weeks) and you can book tickets for any of our plays directly at Member (£12) or Standard (£14) rate. You can pay by card, cash or cheque and choose the seat(s) you want while you do it. You’ll still get your tickets sent to you via email, but as we’ll be doing the admin, there’s no booking fee.
We’ll also have the Box Office open in the interval of our productions so that you can book for the next play, or even for the rest of the season.
If you’re happy to carry on buying your tickets online, the booking process is unchanged. You can book for all of our shows here.
And if you want to book for more than one member in an online transaction, you can do this. You can only select one Member rate ticket at a time, but if you want to book for a friend or family member who is also a member, once you’ve selected your first Member seat instead of pressing “Check Out” when you reach that screen, press the “Continue Shopping” button instead and this will take you back to the main page so you can select another Member ticket and choose the seat next to your original one (or not, if you don’t want to sit together!) and then proceed to the checkout.
You can also use the “Continue Shopping” option to book for multiple plays in one transaction – the more seats you book, the lower the fee so it pays to plan ahead!
We hope this makes life a little easier for anybody concerned about the booking fee.
