Run entirely by volunteers, the Edward Alderton Theatre is managed by a dedicated team who take overall responsibility for delivering an entertaining and varied season of productions and providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who visits the theatre. The Edward Alderton Theatre became a registered charity in April 2026 and is governed by a board of trustees. At the inaugural AGM of Edward Alderton Theatre CIO, held on 5 August 2026, the following six trustees were elected: Lindsay Dale Deanna Faria Mattie Frieacre Martin Gilby Helen Macdonald Sue Sewell At each AGM, a proportion of the trustees retire by rotation and may stand for re-election, ensuring that members have a regular opportunity to vote on the composition of the board whilst providing continuity in the management of the theatre. Trustee Roles We are currently agreeing individual areas of responsibility and will update this page as these are finalised. The following roles have already been confirmed: Lindsay Dale – Trustee: Finance, Fundraising, Membership and Ticketing Responsible for administering the theatre's accounts, overseeing fundraising and applications for grants, managing the EAT membership database and renewals and managing theatre bookings through TicketSource. Deanna Faria – Trustee: Bar Licensee, Safeguarding Lead and Front of House Support Legal licensee responsible for all aspects of the theatre's bar service for productions and social events. Safeguarding Lead responsible for safeguarding and welfare matters within the theatre, ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place and acting as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns. Also assists with the coordination of Front of House support for productions and events.
Helen Macdonald – Trustee: Communications and Marketing Responsible for communications with members, audiences and the media, and for promoting our productions and the theatre more widely through our website, social media and other marketing channels. Contact Helen at marketing@edwardalderton.org
Sue Sewell – Trustee: Front of House Co-Ordinator Responsible for coordinating Front of House volunteers and ensuring the smooth operation of Front of House activities for productions and events.
