Whenever you come to see a show at the EAT, you’ll be greeted by some of our members. For every performance, a team of volunteers makes sure that our audiences feel welcome and safe and will also sell you a very reasonably priced drink from the bar, a cup of tea or coffee or an ice cream for the interval! Getting involved with the Front of House team is a great way to get to know people at the theatre and to help keep everything running smoothly. There are a few ways in which you can help out: Our Front of House Manager has overall responsibility for making sure things run smoothly – welcoming audiences, opening the auditorium and answering any questions that may crop up – from the current play’s running time to details of our next social event! We usually have two people looking after the Box Office at each performance: welcoming our audiences to the theatre, selling those last-minute tickets and selling tea and coffee in the interval. The theatre has its own Bar, selling beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks before and after the performance, and during the interval. The bar is also open every Wednesday night when we do NOT have a production on stage, for a weekly social where you can catch up with friends old and new! Helping out is another great way to get to know people! We’ll never throw you in at the deep end – full training will be given for all of our Front of House roles and there will always be somebody on hand to help out if you get stuck!
