The second half of our 2026-27 Season has now been announced. Details of all the shows to be staged are as follows:

Our opening October production will be a thriller:
Snake in the Grass by Alan Ackybourn
On stage from 17th – 24th October (no performance Sunday)
Directed by Jenny McKiernan, a new director at the EAT, and an actress who some of you may remember was the lead in our production of Antigone, back in 2015.

Our December production will be a fun-filled panto:
Alice in Cuckoo Land by Peter Nuttall
On stage from 5th – 12th December (ten performances)
Directed by Suzanne Harris, who has delivered many successful productions at the EAT, most recently The Vicar of Dibley as part of our 50th anniversary season.

And, our first production of 2027, in February, will be a performance of three episodes from the classic 1970s TV series:
Porridge by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais
On stage from 6th – 13th February 2027 (nine performances)
Directed by another new director to the EAT, Darren Coleman, a long-standing supporter of the theatre.

In March, we will present a new adaptation of a modern classic: Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen, adapted by Scott James
On stage from 27th March – 3rd April 2027 (seven performances)
Directed by Howard Lukk, who brings his passion for classic drama to one of theatre’s most compelling and complex leading roles.

In May, we will bring one of P.G. Wodehouse’s most beloved double acts to the stage: Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense by The Goodale Brothers
On stage from 1st – 8th May 2027 (seven performances)
Directed by Mattie Frieacre, whose creativity, energy and love of theatrical storytelling promise a delightful and entertaining production.

Finally, in July, we round off the season with a popular musical: A Slice of Saturday Night by The Heather Brothers
On stage from 3rd – 10th July 2027 (seven performances)
Directed by Scott James, well known to EAT audiences and members as a director, performer and writer, and ideally placed to bring this nostalgic musical celebration of 1960s youth culture to life.

Auditions for Snake in the Grass and Alice in Cuckoo Land are taking place in June. Those for Porridge will be in September, Hedda Gabler in November, Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense in February 2027, and A Slice of Saturday Night in April 2027. Some productions will also have readthroughs prior to auditions. These are a good opportunity for anyone interested in being involved, either on or off stage, to get a real sense of the production, as well as a chance to chat with the director.
