Thank you to everybody who supported our production of Ghosts (7th-14th February 2026). After a bit of a slow start, ticket sales really took off and our talented cast performed to pretty packed houses
There was a lot of love online and in our new Comments Book (you’ll find it at the Box Office if you want to share some thoughts) for the production and for the EAT – with audience members praising the acting, direction, costumes, set design and all of our brilliant Front of House team. A lot of work goes into staging our plays and everybody involved is a volunteer, so it’s great to see all that effort is appreciated.
Read on for a taste of what our audiences thought of our first production for 2026.
“A new venue for me – the Edward Alderton theatre is a small, 70 seater performance space with good raked seating and welcoming staff. This amateur production had a good cast of five with the two females – Suzannah Churchill playing Helene and Stephanie Baah playing Regina – shining. The simple staging and the costumes were excellent with a special plaudit for the effective Norwegian mountain backdrop scenery”.
“Really enjoyed this beautifully atmospheric production of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen at the Edward Alderton Theatre.Elegantly staged and superbly acted, this period setting allowed the tension to simmer, enhanced by Kevin Onley’s beautiful, artistic backdrop. An effective musical soundscape underpinned the unease, and several moments lingered long after the lights went down.Congratulations to director Martin Gilby and his cast and crew on a thoughtful and compelling production”.
“Congratulations to everyone involved in “Ghosts” at the Edward Alderton Theatre. Every single one of the small cast were amazing in their roles and the set, particularly the wonderful backclot,h was superb. I had never seen this play before and I am so happy I went along!”
