The scene - a country house drawing room. Andreas Capodistriou, an Oily Levantine, seems to be up to no good as he blackmails each member of the dinner in turn. But he steps too far with one of the guests and is horribly murdered before going into dinner. Whodunnit? The 'phone lines are down, the storm rages outside, and one of the people in that room is a murderer...
