 Arts Council Awards 2009
The Arts Council of Bexley's annual awards evening will this year take place at the Edward Alderton Theatre on Saturday 24 October (exact time to be confirmed).  Booking Prepayments
Following a significant loss of money for It Ain't Half Hot Mum because of people not turning up after booking tickets (and thus leaving us with unpaid empty seats when we already had a waiting list), it has been decided by the committee to initiate a pre-payment system from our next production, The Importance of Being Earnest, in October. The system will remain exactly as now, except that members and non-members alike will have to send Nicky Clark a cheque for the booked tickets before their allocation can be confirmed. Cheques should be payable to 'Edward Alderton Theatre' and sent c/o 29 Chapel Road, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA7 4HW. If a cheque has not been received, the seat(s) will be held for 48hrs before being released for sale again. The cut-off point for pre-paid bookings will be the Tuesday before opening night, after which seats (if available) may be booked without pre-paying.

 Subscriptions
Subscriptions for all members are due on 1 September. After holding the price at £15 for a number of years, please note that we have now had to increase the price to £20 (£10 for those in full-time education). For insurance reasons, this subscription is compulsory for anyone involved backstage or on-stage in any capacity for any show this season.

Demolition of Adult Education Centre building
Work has now commenced on the demolition of the old Adult Education Centre building in front of the theatre. This means that the normal entrance to the rear car park is now blocked off and a new, temporary vehicular entrance has been made in the fence that runs alongside the Danson Youth Centre car park. The theatre is also accessible via a footpath that runs down the righthand side of the Centre (as you look at it from Brampton Road). The situation will remain like this until at least March 2010, as the old building is pulled down and a new two-storey one erected in its place.
